This past Spring of 2013, we set forth with a mission ... a mission to have a wine and beer club for our neighbors to network, meet new people, learn about all the great wine shops and breweries in town, and of course, drink some fabulous wine and beer!
We may have hit some minor bumps in the road on our journey but that did not stop us from forging ahead with our passion! Sure, we don't have a permanent place to host our wine and beer loving neighbors and friends but that's OK. It makes us use our creativity!
Our first tasting event was at our house. We, along with the help of Wine 101 owner, Joe O'Keefe, selected a California themed tasting featuring 3 wines and 3 beers, all out of Cali, with a special tasting of Dathan's very own first home brew.
Oh, and the best part? We paired it all with Escazu chocolates!!

So, a major storm may have blown through about 2 hours before we were expecting a houseful of people, but with luck on our side, the power never flickered. We did lose a few people we were expecting, but that just meant more wine and beer for us! As for the favorite selection of the night? The Fiddletown Cellars Zinfandel.
While most people were celebrating our countries independence in July, we decided to celebrate Bastille Day with a fabulous French wine tasting at Uncorked: Retail Wine & Tasting Shop, our neighborhood wine shop! What’s the saying, the best laid plans? There may have been a slight mix up with what time we were starting but that just meant we started a little early. Little did we know we would also shut the place down! It’s true, our wine clubs are now known for lasting until the last drop is gone or the lights are shut off! It was so great to see our attendance more than double that night and have the place buzzing with conversation and of course wine! And might I add very generous pours of wine!

2011 Plateau des Chenes (which was by far the crowd favorite)
